What Is Roof Restoration?

A plant-based treatment that keeps the roof you already have in service.

Roof restoration, the way we do it, is a professional treatment that restores flexibility to aging asphalt shingles. It keeps the roof you already have in service instead of tearing it off, and it starts with a free roof health checkup to see whether your roof qualifies.

Why Shingles Need It

Asphalt shingles lose flexibility as they age, and that's the problem Roof Maxx is made to address. The treatment is a plant-based oil made from soybeans, it soaks into the shingle itself, and the technology came out of Battelle research labs.

What Has to Be True First

The best candidates are asphalt shingle roofs that are aging but structurally sound, typically 10 to 20 years old. We won't treat a roof with repeated problems or one that has lost 30% or more of its protective granules, and Roof Maxx isn't made for metal or tile.

Repair is a separate service, and we offer it for problems like a leak at one flashing or a few damaged shingles. Once that's fixed, we'll decide whether the rest of the roof should be treated. Roof cleaning is another service we offer, and we'll tell you which one your roof actually needs.

What You Get When Your Roof Qualifies

When your roof qualifies, the treatment takes a few hours and costs up to 80% less than a full replacement. One treatment extends the life of your shingles by five years, and repeat treatments about every five years can add up to 15 years. Our 15-year transferable warranty covers shingle flexibility on that schedule.

In fire testing at Intertek under ASTM E108, treated shingles met the Class A criteria, and untreated shingles did not. On 17-year-old three-tab shingles, hail dents averaged about 24% smaller on treated shingles than on untreated ones.
