How Asphalt Shingle Rejuvenation Works
Inspect First
We inspect your roof before we recommend a treatment, since not every roof qualifies for Roof Maxx. If you're comparing a new roof with restoration, start with a free roof health checkup. We'll tell you whether the next step is a repair, a Roof Maxx treatment, or something a treatment can't fix.

How Roof Rejuvenation Works
Our treatment is a plant-based oil made from soybeans, and it soaks into aging asphalt shingles to restore the flexibility they lose with age. Before it goes on, your technician does a tune-up, replacing or securing loose or missing shingles, resealing flashings, sealing nail pops, and checking the structure.

IT MAKES SHINGLES LAST
One treatment extends the life of your shingles by five years, and repeat treatments can add up to 15 years to asphalt shingles that are aging but structurally sound.
IT SAVES MONEY
A treatment costs up to 80% less than a full replacement, which Roof Maxx puts at $20,000 to $25,000 or more today. Your free roof health checkup comes with a free quote, so you'll know what a treatment would cost on your roof before you decide.
IT SAVES TIME
The treatment takes a few hours, while a roof replacement often takes a week or more and starts with a full tear-off.
Roof Rejuvenation: Explained

Safe, All Natural Oils
Roof Maxx is made from soybean oil, and the technology behind it came out of Battelle research labs. It is USDA certified 86% bio-based and certified USDA BioPreferred. An Ohio State University study found that each treated home saves about 3.8 tons of roofing waste.

Shingle Penetration
The treatment soaks into the asphalt shingle itself and restores its flexibility. On 17-year-old three-tab shingles, treated shingles passed the pliability bend test, including the weather-side-down test that simulates high wind.

Water Vapor Resistance
Roof Maxx tested treated 17-year-old three-tab shingles for water vapor transmission under ASTM E96. The treatment significantly reduced the amount of water vapor getting through the shingle.

Hail Resistance
On 17-year-old three-tab shingles, hail dents averaged about 24% smaller on treated shingles than on untreated ones. Damage from hail should still be covered by your homeowners insurance rather than the Roof Maxx warranty.

Fire Resistance
In fire testing at Intertek under ASTM E108, treated shingles met the Class A criteria, and untreated shingles tested the same way did not.

Solar Panel Durability
Roof Maxx exposed shingles to 400% of a normal treatment to see how the roof around solar equipment would respond. The shingles showed only slight softening, with very little effect on solar mounts and vent boots.

Environmental Impact
Roof Maxx says about 90% of torn-off roofing material goes to landfills, where shingles can take up to 500 years to break down. When a treatment keeps a sound roof in service, those shingles stay on your house instead of heading to a landfill.
The Short Answer
If your asphalt shingles are aging but the roof is still sound, rejuvenation keeps it in service for years at up to 80% less than replacement. There's no tear-off, the work takes a few hours, and if your roof doesn't qualify, we'll tell you after the inspection.
