Safe for Families and Pets

No fumes, strong odors, or hazardous runoff.

Roof Maxx is made from plant-based oils, and it's safe for your family, your pets, your plants, and the landscaping around your home. There are no fumes, strong odors, or hazardous runoff during the application. The treatment soaks into your asphalt shingles to restore their flexibility.

What Roof Maxx Is Made From

Roof Maxx is USDA certified 86% bio-based and certified USDA BioPreferred, and the technology behind it came out of Battelle research labs. The treatment is made for asphalt shingles, and it isn't used on metal or tile roofs.

An Ohio State University study looked at the environmental side of the treatment and found that each treated home saves about 3.8 tons of roofing waste.

Planning the Visit Around Your Home

If you have pets that spend time outside or a garden close to the house, tell us when you book. The crew can then plan the setup around how you use your home. Before the treatment goes on, your technician does a tune-up, replacing or securing loose or missing shingles, resealing flashings, sealing nail pops, and checking the structure.

The treatment itself takes a few hours, while a roof replacement often takes a week or more with a full tear-off.

Solar Panels and Other Common Questions

Roof Maxx exposed shingles to 400% of a normal treatment, and the shingles showed only slight softening, with very little effect on solar mounts and vent boots. In fire testing at Intertek under ASTM E108, treated shingles met the Class A criteria, and untreated shingles did not.
